Summer camp at the La Jolla YMCA is really fun. It's like getting paid to play, literally. This summer, I went to Seaworld, kayaking at La Jolla shores, Catalina Island, Wild Rivers and Disneyland! The only part that I would say was hard about camp is that some of the camps offered are actually very boring, and if you get placed in that camp for the week, you'll have to try especially hard to stay awake and happy for the kids. Also, the camp at this YMCA is huge (up to 900 kids/week), so they tend to hire a lot of counselors. They are all really nice, but with so many staff, cliques inevitably form .. fast.

But you have to really like kids to want to work at summer camp, because the hours are long and the pay is little.
